Solid Sterling Silver & Lone Mountain Turquoise Pendant

$750.00

The pendant is handmade with a solid silver cast of a fossil shark tooth I personally found. It's set with natural pale-blue Lone Mountain turquoise bezeled in .999 fine silver. This pendant is handmade and one-of-a-kind.

About the tooth:

The paths things take through time are strange. A shark swims through the salty abyss of what will one day be dry land. It's born, it lives, and it dies in an ancient ocean. It sheds a tooth — a small, seemingly unremarkable thing at the time. The tooth settles into the ocean floor. The ocean disappears.

And in time, the sediment turns to clay and stone.

Rain carves into the earth; a trickle to a stream, a stream to a creek, deeper and deeper, storm after storm. Fresh water cuts into black, fossiliferous layers of the shark's time on Earth - the Cretaceous.

I'm standing on dry land, breathing fresh air, and I walk into the creek. I find the tooth, and I bring it home. Years later, I'm thinking about that moment in the creek, and this idea comes to me: an exact cast of the tooth in solid sterling silver. The original remains intact - untouched and preserved — carefully kept among a personal collection of relics, each one respected for what it represents. I pair the casting with the most stunning pale-blue Lone Mountain turquoise l've ever seen.

And now this original, one-of-a-kind pendant exists.
